Obalia was Mindi's first horse, bought at 7 Hills Horses, the stable Mindi worked at the summer when she was 15 years. Obalia was a very good horse, who already had proven to be the highest level breeding mare in the Netherlands.

Mindi competed with Obalia at the highest Junior level in Finland, winning at least one class at every competition they participated in.

Mindi took Obalia with her when she moved to the Netherlands in 2007, jumped successfully up to 140cm, and later sold Obalia in 2010. Obalia had a great career and ended up jumping 5* Grand Prix still at a old age. Obalia went back to her birthplace and breeder Maartje Lanooy, Stal NL and is still breeding. Obalia, 22 years old is currently (11/2018) in foal by Van Gogh.
